A New Chapter in Our Story

Since 2009, School the World has partnered with under-resourced communities across Central America to transform education from the ground up. Now, we’re bringing that same passion and partnership to the Philippines.

A New Chapter in Our Story

Since 2009, School the World has partnered with under-resourced communities across Central America to transform education from the ground up. Now, we’re bringing that same passion and partnership to the Philippines.

Why the Philippines?

The education challenges in the Philippines mirror those we’ve encountered in Central America: high dropout rates after elementary school, limited access to education in rural and remote communities, parents who want more for their children but often lack the tools or voice to support them, and teachers who care deeply yet lack the training, resources, and consistent support they need to thrive.

We’ve done our homework. Site visits. Deep interviews. Local partnerships. And we’re convinced: the School the World model is ready to make a difference in this new context.

What We’ll Do

Build safe, vibrant schools

There is a backlog of 165k classrooms needed to provide students a safe place to learn.

Train and inspire teachers

Our programs provide in-depth understanding of teaching methodologies, including the concept of Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL).

Equip parents to lead

Through our training, parents become first educators, helping their children absorb what they study in school, and holding teachers accountable.

Partnering for Local Impact

As we begin our work in the Philippines, we’re collaborating with Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation, a local organization that brings deep knowledge of the communities we’re entering.

Yellow Boat of Hope has spent over a decade improving access to education in remote areas through school transportation, classroom construction, and community-based support. Their experience and existing relationships have already been instrumental in helping us understand the local landscape and identify where our model can make the greatest impact.

This partnership helps us take our first steps in the Philippines with greater context, coordination, and care.

Join Us

This isn’t just expansion—it’s a bold initiative that requires your support from the start. As a partner. As a donor. As someone who believes in a world where all children have the chance to learn and thrive.
